[29/03/08] It
was a night of celebration at Sunshine Hospital Radio when
Tina Pritchard was presented with the grand prize for her
photographic contribution in the stations 'Taking Over The
World' campaign.
Tina, a teacher at local St Marks school, was photographed
wearing her Sunshine Radio T-shirt by her husband Brian whilst
on their honeymoon in Ecuador.
Sunshine
Radio's Vice-Chair Sue Walker took Tina and her family on
a tour of the studios before the prize presentation.
Tina's prize, a Virgin V.P. Voucher offered a range of exciting
experiences but Tina said she'd prefer something more relaxing
and plans to use the voucher for a luxurious spa day with
her daughter Christy.
Sunshine
Radio launched the Taking Over The World last year and asked
members of the public to buy one of its T-shirts and then
have their picture taken wearing it somewhere interesting
across the globe. "The response to our 'Taking Over The
World' campaign was fantastic!" said Marcus Tripp, Sunshine
Radio's P.R. officer. "We're so grateful to everyone
who took part and it wasn't an easy job choosing the best
photo from over 25 finalists, but after much discussion and
with the contribution of the team at The Weston Mercury we
felt that the photo on the equator had something special."
Marcus
added "We'd really like to thank everyone who helped
us with 'Taking Over The World', the Weston Mercury for their
support with the whole campaign, Virgin Experiences and EU
Signs for providing the prize and Clobber &
T-shirtPrintingandMore.co.uk for selling the t-shirts."
Although
there is no longer a grand prize, photographs are still welcome
to help Sunshine Radio spread the word across the globe!

You can keep track of
our progress as the best/most unusual photos will appear in
The Weston Mercury, outside of our radio studio on the
ground floor of Weston General Hospital and, of course, here on
the official Sunshine Hospital Radio website.
Money raised will
help us to improve the range of shows we produce as well as purchase
new studio equipment and C.D.'s.
So if you're off on holiday,
have friends or relatives who are abroad or you just want to take
up the challenge then order a T-Shirt today and help support the
greatest hospital radio station...in the WORLD!
(We'd
like to thank The
Weston Mercury, along with EU
Signs, Virgin
Experiences, T-Shirt
Printing and More and
Clobber for all their support, without which none of this would
have been possible.) |
